Mv Agusta Brutale 1090 Review
"Glorious, demanding, and absolutely worth it with the right example."
Used Buyer Review
The Brutale 1090 is genuinely one of the most intoxicating naked bikes ever built, and that 1078cc inline-four sings in a way no Japanese four can match. Throttle response is savage past 6,000rpm, the exhaust note is borderline illegal, and the ergonomics actually work for longer rides unlike the more extreme 910. It looks like rolling sculpture, full stop. Here's the reality check though: Italian reliability in this era was genuinely patchy. Budget for a full service immediately — throttle bodies, valve clearances, the works. Electrical gremlins are common, especially on pre-2013 examples. The slipper clutch can get notchy with age, and aftermarket parts availability is frustrating compared to anything from Yamaha or Kawasaki. Find a specialist dealer, not a generalist. That said, a well-maintained example with documented service history from a knowledgeable owner is worth every penny of hassle. Check the cooling system obsessively, verify the dash electronics work fully, and walk away from anything that looks unloved. These bikes reward obsessive owners.
