Triumph Speed Triple 1200 Review
"The best British naked you can buy used today."
Used Buyer Review
The Speed Triple 1200 RS is genuinely one of the most complete naked bikes money can buy used right now. That 1160cc triple pulls like a freight train from 3,000rpm and the Öhlins NIX30 forks are properly adjustable — not just marketing fluff. Used examples are holding value because owners know what they have, so don't expect bargain-basement prices. Budget for the first service history being verified; the throttle-by-wire system can throw codes if the previous owner ignored software updates. On the road it's surprisingly manageable for a 180bhp machine. Cornering ABS and the six-axis IMU genuinely earn their keep in the wet. Check the exhaust headers for heat discolouration indicating hard track use, and inspect the Brembo Stylema callipers for uneven pad wear. Fatigued front tyres on high-mileage bikes are a red flag — previous owners often push these hard. The riding position is aggressive but liveable for longer stints, unlike older Speed Triples. If the electrics are sorted and service history stacks up, this is exceptional value against new.
