$3,500-$5,500 usedThe R25 is genuinely one of the better small-displacement sportbikes you can buy used, and the market knows it — prices hold stubbornly well. That parallel-twin is the real star here. It revs cleanly to 12,000rpm, sounds proper doing it, and pulls with surprising enthusiasm once you're past 7,000rpm. Build quality is noticeably better than the comparable CBR300R or Ninja 300, and the riding position won't destroy your wrists on longer rides. That said, go in with realistic expectations. You're working with 35-ish horsepower, so overtaking on dual carriageways requires planning, not spontaneity. Check the chain and sprockets carefully on anything above 15,000 miles — owners who thrash these and skip maintenance aren't rare. The suspension is soft from factory and won't flatter aggressive riding. Look for bikes with aftermarket brake pads already fitted; the OEM stoppers are notably underwhelming.
