Triumph Speed Triple 1050

The Triumph Speed Triple 1050 has a top speed of 225 km/h, produces 133 hp and weighs 189 kg. Motoryk rates it 8.5/10.

Was Käufer wissen sollten

Watch the Cam Chain

Early 1050 models (2005-2010) are known for cam chain tensioner wear, which can cause a rattling noise on cold starts. Always listen carefully at startup and check service history before buying.

💰

Strong Resale Value

The Speed Triple holds its value better than most naked bikes in its class, thanks to its iconic status and consistent demand. A well-maintained example typically retains 60-70% of its value after three years.

🔥

Aggressive Triple Engine

The 1050cc inline-three delivers a unique powerband — torquey like a twin but with a high-revving top end — giving it a riding character no four-cylinder competitor can replicate. This signature feel is a big reason buyers remain loyal to the model.

8.7/10

"The best-sounding naked middleweight you can buy used today."

$5,500-$9,000 used

The Speed Triple 1050 is one of those bikes that rewards experienced riders who know what they're getting into. That triple-cylinder motor is genuinely special — it pulls hard from 3,000rpm, screams past 9,000, and sounds like nothing else on the road. The 2011-2015 generation especially hit a sweet spot before the R variants added electronic complexity. Used examples from this era are plentiful and relatively affordable now. Before buying, check the steering head bearings — they wear prematurely and previous owners often ignore them. Early models had fuel pump issues, so ask for service records and listen for hesitation at low throttle openings. Corrosion around the exhaust headers is cosmetic but worth negotiating on. The suspension is firm for a naked bike, but that's by design rather than neglect on most examples. This isn't a beginner machine and a worn-out example will bite you. Buy a good one with documented service history and you'll have a motorcycle that genuinely excites every single ride.
