Honda Gl1000 Goldwing

The Honda Gl1000 Goldwing has a top speed of 193 km/h, produces 80 hp and weighs 266 kg. Motoryk rates it 7.5/10.

Groundbreaking Flat-Four Engine

The GL1000 was Honda's first Gold Wing (1975–1979), featuring a revolutionary 999cc horizontally-opposed four-cylinder engine that set a new standard for smooth, vibration-free touring power. This layout also lowers the center of gravity, making the bike more stable than it looks.

🔧

Watch the Carburetors

The four Keihin carburetors are the most common maintenance headache on the GL1000 — they require careful synchronization and are prone to gumming up from ethanol-blended fuels after sitting. Budget for a professional carb rebuild or cleaning before buying any neglected example.

💰

Strong Collector Value

Clean, original GL1000s have steadily appreciated as the first-generation Gold Wing gains classic status among collectors. Well-preserved examples in good running condition regularly fetch $4,000–$7,000+, making neglected projects a solid investment if bought right.

Eksileri

Ağırlık için küçük boyutlu tek ön disk
Kaporta yok, acımasız otoyol rüzgarı
150 milin altında yakıt menzili kaygısı
Yavaş park yeri hızlarında ağır
Için en iyisi: Pürüzsüz iyileştirmeye değer veren uzun mesafeli sürücüler Eğer atla: Modern fren performansı bekliyorsunuz

$2,500-$7,000 used

The GL1000 is the original flat-four tourer, and honestly it still earns respect today. Honda basically invented the modern touring bike with this thing in 1975, and the engineering holds up surprisingly well. The 999cc horizontally-opposed engine is butter-smooth at highway speeds, and that low centre of gravity makes it handle far better than something this heavy has any right to. Budget serious money for carb rebuilds though — four CV carburettors that have sat for years are a nightmare, and most used examples have sat plenty. The electrics are the real wildcard. These bikes are 45-50 years old, and shade-tree mechanics have had decades to bodge the wiring. Inspect every connector, check the alternator output, and walk away from anything with mystery switches taped to the bars. Parts availability is decent thanks to a passionate owner community, but shop labour gets expensive fast when you're pulling bodywork to reach basic components. For the right buyer who wants a genuinely historic machine with real character, a sorted GL1000 is deeply satisfying. Just don't buy someone else's neglected project.
