Honda Crosstourer 1200
The Honda Crosstourer 1200 (VFR1200X) was introduced in 2012 as an adventure touring variant of the VFR1200F, combining sporty V4 performance with upright adventure ergonomics and optional DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission). It was notable for being one of the few adventure tourers powered by a V4 engine, offering a distinctive character compared to the parallel-twin and boxer-twin rivals of its era. Production continued until around 2017-2018, when it was quietly discontinued as the adventure touring segment shifted toward more off-road-capable machines.

What Buyers Should Know
Rock-Solid V4 Engine
The 1237cc V4 engine is derived from Honda's VFR1200F and is renowned for exceptional reliability, often exceeding 100,000km with minimal issues when properly serviced. Valve clearance checks are infrequent but important to stay on top of.
Watch the DCT System
Models equipped with the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) can develop jerky low-speed behavior if transmission fluid isn't changed on schedule — always verify full DCT service history before buying. DCT repairs can be costly if neglected.
Steady Resale Value
The CrossTourer holds its value reasonably well due to its niche adventure-touring appeal and Honda badge, but limited production numbers mean parts availability can be a challenge as the bike ages. Low mileage examples command a noticeable premium.
