The Bmw K 1600 Gt has a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited), produces 160 hp and weighs 317 kg. Motoryk rates it 8.5/10.

🔧

Watch the Final Drive

The shaft drive final drive unit can develop leaks or wear on higher-mileage bikes, especially above 60,000 miles. Always inspect for oil seepage and ask for service history before buying used.

🎵

Unique 6-Cylinder Engine

The inline-6 engine is one of the smoothest and most distinctive powerplants in motorcycling, producing around 160hp with minimal vibration. This exclusivity helps retain strong resale value compared to competing touring bikes.

💡

Electronics Can Be Costly

The K 1600 GT is loaded with advanced tech including adaptive headlights, ESA suspension, and a full infotainment system — any failures outside warranty can be expensive to diagnose and repair at a dealer.

Melhor para
Long-distance tourers who ride seriously, often

"The ultimate touring machine if you respect its weight and wallet."

$12,000-$22,000 used

The K1600GT is the benchmark for powered two-wheeler touring — full stop. Six cylinders, 160 horses, and a smoothness that makes inline-fours feel agricultural. Used examples from 2011 onwards are genuinely attainable now, and the core bike remains outstanding. The ESA suspension, dynamic traction control, and heated everything make long-haul riding almost absurdly comfortable. I've done 600-mile days on one without questioning my life choices. That said, go in with eyes open. BMW's Dynamic ESA system is brilliant until it fails — and it does fail. Budget $800-1,200 for suspension sensor issues on higher-mileage examples. The infotainment system on pre-2017 bikes feels dated fast. More critically, this thing weighs 703 pounds wet. Drop it in a parking lot and you're looking at $2,000+ in bodywork minimum. Dealers charge BMW dealer rates, obviously. Buy one with full service history, ideally from a single owner who actually toured on it rather than garage-kept it for appearances. Shaft drive, bulletproof engine internals, and genuine long-distance capability make this worth the hassle.
