Bmw K 1300 S
The BMW K 1300 S was introduced in 2009 as the successor to the K 1200 S, featuring an enlarged 1293cc inline-four engine and BMW's innovative Duolever front suspension for superior handling. It represented the pinnacle of BMW's sport motorcycle lineup, blending high performance with long-distance touring capability and advanced electronics including optional ESA and ASC traction control. Production continued until around 2016, when it was eventually phased out as BMW shifted focus toward the S 1000 RR platform.

What Buyers Should Know
Watch the Throttle Actuator
The K 1300 S is known for throttle actuator failures that can cause erratic idle or stalling. Inspect service records and budget for potential replacement, as parts can be expensive.
Unique Duolever Front End
BMW's proprietary Duolever front suspension eliminates fork dive under braking and delivers razor-sharp handling unlike any conventional motorcycle. It's a standout feature but requires specialized knowledge to service correctly.
Steady Resale Value
The K 1300 S holds its value reasonably well compared to Japanese sport bikes, partly due to its low production numbers and strong brand loyalty. Well-maintained examples with full BMW service history command a noticeable premium.
