Vespa S 150

The Vespa S 150 has a top speed of 95 km/h, produces 10.3 hp and weighs 118 kg. Motoryk rates it 7/10.

🔧

Strong Resale Value

Vespa scooters historically retain 60-70% of their value after 3 years, outperforming most Asian competitors. The S 150's classic styling keeps demand consistently high in the used market.

⚠️

Watch the Carb & Fuel System

The S 150's carbureted engine is prone to gumming if left sitting unused for extended periods. Always inspect the carburetor and fuel lines carefully on any used example.

🛡️

All-Steel Monocoque Body

Unlike plastic-bodied rivals, the Vespa S 150 features a full steel unibody construction that is more durable and rust-resistant when properly maintained. This also makes it significantly easier to repair after minor dents or scratches.

Generaties en specificaties per jaar

7.4/10

Pluspunten

+Opwindende retro-esthetiek, echt tijdloos

Urban commuters who value style over speed

"Style-forward city scooter that rewards diligent maintenance and punishes neglect."

$1,800-$3,500 used

The Vespa S 150 is one of those scooters that looks better than it rides, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. It's genuinely pretty — that retro-sport styling ages well — but don't expect sportbike performance from a 150cc single. What you get is smooth, predictable city transport that starts reliably and handles urban traffic with surprising confidence. The steel monocoque frame feels planted, and the front drum/rear drum setup on older models is adequate if uninspiring. Buying used, the CVT belt is your first concern — budget for replacement if the seller can't prove recent service. These Piaggio engines are bulletproof if maintained but punishing when neglected. Check for rust around the floorboard and under the seat compartment, classic weak points. Parts pricing will sting you; this isn't a Honda where everything's cheap and available everywhere. Find a dealer who knows Italian scooters before committing.
