Build quality is excellent; these Italian-made machines age well if the previous owner wasn't an idiot about maintenance. Check the variator and roller weights around 15,000 miles because neglected examples will feel sluggish and flat. The downsides are real though. Parts aren't cheap, and independent mechanics often won't touch them — you're mostly tied to Piaggio dealers whose labour rates will make your eyes water. The underseat storage is genuinely impressive for a 300, but the single rear shock setup means loaded up or two-up riding feels agricultural.
