Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8v

The Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8v has a top speed of 210 km/h, produces 110 hp and weighs 228 kg. Motoryk rates it 7.8/10.

⚙️

Unique Transverse V-Twin

The 90-degree transverse V-twin engine with its distinctive cylinder layout provides excellent natural balance and eliminates the need for a balancer shaft, contributing to long-term mechanical simplicity and reliability.

⚠️

Watch the Bevel Gears

The shaft drive bevel gear housing is a known wear point — inspect for oil leaks and have it serviced if neglected, as replacement parts can be costly and sourcing them may require going through specialist dealers.

💰

Strong Cult Resale Value

The Griso 1200 8V holds its value well among Italian V-twin enthusiasts due to its limited production run and distinct styling, making low-mileage examples particularly sought after in the used market.

8.1/10

7.8/10
Idéal pour
Experienced riders craving authentic Italian muscle character

"Flawed, characterful, and utterly unforgettable — buy a good one."

$6,500-$10,500 used

The Griso 8V is one of those bikes that makes absolutely no sense on paper but complete sense the moment you twist the throttle. That 1151cc transverse V-twin punches out 110hp with a torque delivery that feels like someone stapled a locomotive to your wrists. The bevel-edged styling still turns heads a decade later, and the riding position is genuinely aggressive without being punishing. It's a proper Italian muscle bike, not a poseur. That said, going in eyes open matters here. The gearbox is notchy cold — give it five minutes or accept the clunks. Earlier examples (pre-2011) had fuel mapping issues that a dealer flash mostly sorted. Check the bevel drive for play and inspect the exhaust headers for cracks around the welds; both are known weak spots. Parts availability has gotten tighter as Guzzi's dealer network shrinks, so budget accordingly. Find a well-maintained example from a genuine enthusiast and you've got something genuinely special — a motorcycle with real character that most modern bikes simply can't fake.
