Ktm Duke 450

The Ktm Duke 450 has a top speed of N/A, produces N/A and weighs N/A. Motoryk rates it 7.8/10.

KTM does not produce a model specifically called the '450 Duke' — the Duke lineup skips from the 390 Duke to the 500 EXC and other off-road 450 platforms. KTM does offer a 450 SMR (supermoto) which shares DNA with their 450 EXC enduro bikes, but a street-focused '450 Duke' has not been officially released as of 2024. It is possible this model is planned, rumored, or confused with an adjacent model.

What Buyers Should Know

⚙️

LC4 Engine Heritage

The 450 Duke uses KTM's proven single-cylinder LC4 engine, known for strong torque and durability when serviced regularly. Oil changes every 5,000 km are critical to long engine life.

⚠️

Watch the Cooling System

Some owners report coolant hose wear and minor overheating in heavy traffic — inspect hoses and the radiator cap seal before buying used. It's a cheap fix but commonly overlooked.

💰

Solid Resale Value

KTM Duke models hold resale value well in the mid-displacement segment, especially with full service history. A well-maintained 450 Duke typically retains 65–75% of its value after two years.

Experienced riders wanting track-ready naked performance

"Brilliant when maintained properly, a nightmare when it hasn't been."

$5,500-$8,500 used

The 450 Duke is genuinely exciting to ride — that 449cc single thumps out serious grunt and the chassis is razor-sharp in a way that makes most parallel twins feel lazy. KTM nailed the ergonomics here: upright, aggressive without being punishing, and that TFT display is legitimately excellent. On a used example, though, you need to go in with eyes open. These motors work hard and they tell you about it. Check service intervals obsessively — the valve clearances need attention and previous owners often skip it because dealers charge a lot. Wear items go fast on a bike this performance-focused. Inspect the chain, sprockets, and brake pads carefully. The WP suspension is superb but seals can weep on neglected bikes. Always ask for service records and, if the owner can't produce them, walk away. Seriously, walk away. Get a good one and you have a legitimately thrilling machine that embarrasses bigger bikes through the twisties. Get a bad one and you're staring at a hefty repair bill inside six months.
