The FTR 1200 S is one of those bikes that genuinely turns heads for the right reasons. That 1203cc V-twin punches hard from anywhere in the rev range, and the flat-track-inspired chassis actually backs up the styling with proper handling chops. The S trim gets you fully adjustable Öhlins suspension and a six-axis IMU — serious kit for the money when you find one used around ten grand. Here's what nobody tells you though: the seat is genuinely awful for anything over an hour, and heat management from that big twin is brutal in traffic. Budget for an aftermarket seat immediately. Also check service history religiously — the throttle-by-wire system and electronics suite can throw gremlins on poorly maintained examples. Early 2019 models had some software quirks, so 2020 onwards is where I'd focus my search. Bottom line, this is a genuinely exciting, capable machine that American manufacturers rarely produce.
