Der SuperHawk zieht kräftig ab 4.000 Umdrehungen pro Minute und heult absolut über 7.000 — dieser 90-Grad-V-Twin hat einen Charakter, für den Ducati den doppelten Preis verlangt. Ich habe ihn drei Saisons lang laufen lassen und der Motor hat nie einen Schlag verpasst, obwohl die Vergaser jedes Frühjahr richtig synchronisiert werden mussten, sonst stolperte er im Leerlauf. Das Handling ist für ein 222 kg schweres Fahrrad wirklich gut, wenn man erst einmal die Federung eingestellt hat, aber das serienmäßige Setup ist weich, wie Federn für einen schwereren Fahrer, und der hintere Dämpfer ist das Erste, was man austauschen sollte. Die Ergonomie teilt den Unterschied zwischen Sport und Upright besser auf als die meisten anderen — mein Rücken hat mich nach 300 km Tagen nicht gehasst, was ich von meinem alten CBR nicht behaupten kann.
