購入者が知っておくべきこと
Watch the Desmo Service
The Scrambler uses Ducati's desmodromic valve system, requiring a valve service every 15,000 km (9,000 miles). This service can cost $600–$1,000, so always ask for service records before buying used.
Strong Resale Value
The Scrambler Icon holds its value better than most entry-level bikes, typically retaining 70–75% of its value after two years. Its timeless retro styling keeps demand consistently high on the used market.
Electrical Gremlins Reported
Earlier models (2015–2018) had known issues with the instrument cluster and stator failures, which can leave you stranded. Always check that the battery charges correctly and all electronics function before purchasing.

"A stylish, characterful buy if you inspect carefully and budget realistically."
$5,500-$9,000 usedThe Scrambler Icon is one of those bikes that looks better than it rides, and that's not necessarily a deal-breaker. The 803cc air-cooled L-twin punches out around 73hp and pulls cleanly through the mid-range — enough grunt for urban riding and light weekend blasts without scaring newer riders. It's genuinely fun in the right environment. The ergonomics are relaxed, the seat height is manageable, and that wide handlebar gives you real confidence in town. But let's be honest about the problems. Pre-2019 models had notorious electrical gremlins — connectors corroding, dash units dying, random warning lights appearing for no reason. The suspension is underdamped from the factory, and previous owners rarely upgraded it. Check the fork seals and rear shock carefully. Service costs at a Ducati dealer will sting, so finding a bike with documented independent workshop history is perfectly acceptable. Budget for a proper suspension setup, budget for consumables, and don't overpay. These depreciate well for a reason.
