Aprilia Tuono V4

⚙️

V4 Engine Reliability

The 1077cc V4 engine is derived from Aprilia's RSV4 superbike and is generally robust when properly maintained. Regular valve clearance checks every 15,000 km are critical — skipping this service is the most common cause of expensive engine issues.

🔋

Watch the Electronics

Earlier models (2011–2014) are known for occasional APRC electronics glitches and throttle body sensor failures that can trigger warning lights. Always check service history and ensure the ECU software has been updated to the latest version before buying.

💰

Strong Resale Value

The Tuono V4 holds its value exceptionally well compared to most naked bikes, typically retaining 70–80% of its value after three years. Low-mileage examples with full service history command a premium, making it a smart long-term ownership choice.

Évaluation d'un acheteur d'occasion

8.5/10
Idéal pour
Experienced riders wanting exotic performance cheaply

"The best used supernaked available, if you budget honestly."

$7,500-$13,000 used

The Tuono V4 is genuinely one of the greatest used bike bargains available right now, but you need to go in with your eyes open. That 1000cc V4 engine is ferocious and characterful in ways that Japanese supernaked rivals simply aren't — it revs like a screaming animal and pulls hard from 4,000rpm all the way to the redline. The electronics package on post-2015 models is genuinely class-leading even by today's standards. Here's the honest part though — Aprilia ownership demands patience and budget. Coolant hoses degrade, the throttle bodies need periodic balancing, and finding a dealer who actually knows these bikes can be genuinely frustrating outside major cities. Service intervals are expensive. Always check the rear linkage bearings are smooth, inspect the subframe for stress cracks if it's been down, and verify the full service history religiously. Neglected examples will punish you financially. Buy a well-documented, single-owner example and you'll have a motorcycle that embarrasses bikes costing twice as much. Buy a mystery-history bargain and you'll regret every penny saved.
