Used Buyer Review

The Beverly 300 is one of those scooters that punches well above its price bracket in the used market. Piaggio built something genuinely grown-up here โ€” proper 17-inch wheels that actually handle like a motorcycle, a smooth 278cc single that pulls cleanly from low revs, and bodywork that doesn't scream 'school run special.' For urban commuting with occasional weekend blasts, it's genuinely competent. Check the rear shock carefully on anything over 20,000 miles โ€” they go soft and replacements aren't cheap. Also inspect the ABS sensor wiring near the front wheel; it's a known weak point on pre-2017 bikes. Sitting on one immediately tells you this isn't a budget scooter. The riding position is upright but purposeful, storage under the seat swallows a full-face helmet, and the twin-pot front brake gives real confidence. What it isn't is exciting. Highway cruising above 80mph gets buzzy, and that single cylinder is working hard. Buy it knowing what it is โ€” a very good urban tool โ€” and you won't be disappointed.
