Kymco Xciting 400 Review
"Solid, honest daily transport that won't embarrass your wallet."
Used Buyer Review
The Xciting 400 is one of those scooters that genuinely surprises you. Kymco built something here that punches well above its budget price point — the CBS braking is competent, that 399cc single pulls cleanly from low revs, and the riding position is genuinely comfortable for urban commuting or light touring. I've seen them crack 85mph without drama, which is more than most maxi-scooter buyers actually need. Used examples between 2015-2020 are where you want to be hunting. Watch for neglected final drive belts — they're cheap to replace but owners ignore them — and check the front forks for oil weeping. The underseat storage is genuinely useful, but the center stand pivot pins corrode badly in wet climates. Budget for new tyres almost immediately on anything over 8,000 miles. Honestly? For the money, it's hard to argue with. It's not a Forza or T-Max, and Kymco dealers can be scarce, but as a practical, affordable daily rider it does the job without embarrassing itself.
