Used Buyer Review

The Kymco Like 200i is one of those retro-styled scoots that looks better than it actually performs, but that's not necessarily a dealbreaker depending on what you need it for. The 170cc fuel-injected single pulls reasonably well around town, cold starts are reliable thanks to the EFI, and the vintage Vespa-esque styling genuinely turns heads. For pure urban commuting under 30 miles a day, it honestly does the job without complaint. Used examples tend to cluster around the 3,000-8,000 mile range since most owners baby them or lose interest fast. Check the fuel injector connectors โ€” they corrode if the bike sat outside regularly. Fork seals go soft around 15,000 miles, and the rear drum brake feels wooden from day one, never mind after a few years of use. Parts availability is the real gamble; Kymco dealers are thin on the ground in most markets. Don't pay more than $1,800 for anything over four years old regardless of mileage. The depreciation is brutal and works entirely in your favor as a used buyer.

Pros

+Reliable fuel injection system
+Genuine retro visual appeal
+Cheap purchase price used
+Easy low-speed maneuverability
+Decent fuel economy

Cons

-Rear drum brake underwhelms
-Sparse dealer parts network
-Resale value collapses fast
-Uninspiring highway performance
