Ducati Hypermotard 950 Review
"Buy one with full service history or walk away immediately."
Used Buyer Review
The Hypermotard 950 is one of those bikes that makes you grin like an idiot every single ride — but it'll also punish you for buying a neglected example. The 937cc L-twin is a gem when maintained properly, but these things drink oil and the dry clutch rattles loud enough to turn heads in parking lots. Check service history obsessively. Desmo valve checks are expensive and dealers love skipping them on pre-owned bikes. That said, when you get a clean one, nothing else feels this alive at street-legal speeds. The riding position is aggressive without being brutal, the steering is telepathic, and that trellis frame looks genuinely stunning in person. The SP version is worth the premium if you can find one. Avoid early 2019 models — there were fueling gremlins that Ducati sorted by 2020 with updated mapping. Budget $400-600 annually for consumables; these aren't Honda maintenance cycles.
