Husqvarna 701 Supermoto Review
"The most fun per dollar in used supermotos, if maintained properly."
Used Buyer Review
The 701 Supermoto is genuinely one of the most entertaining motorcycles you can buy used, but go in with your eyes open. That LC4 single thumps out serious performance — we're talking proper supermoto handling that'll embarrass sportbikes through tight urban corridors — but it's a high-strung engine that rewards maintenance schedules being followed religiously. Check service history hard. Valve clearances need doing every 15,000km and previous owners frequently skip them. Also inspect the subframe for cracks; it's a known weak point on earlier examples. The 2019 fuel injection remap helped enormously over earlier rough-running units, so prioritize those if budget allows. Expect to pay a premium because these hold value stubbornly. Suspension is properly adjustable WP kit that actually works, the brakes are Brembo, and the chassis feedback is addictive. Just budget an extra $500-800 for consumables when buying — chain, sprockets, and rear tyres disappear fast if you're riding it properly.
