Yamaha Xj6
The Yamaha XJ6 was introduced in 2009 as a middleweight naked roadster aimed at new and intermediate riders, replacing the aging XJ600S Diversion. Built around a detuned version of the R6 supersport engine, it offered accessible performance in a practical, everyday package. It remained in production until around 2016 and was offered in multiple variants including the XJ6 Naked, XJ6 Diversion (half-fairing), and XJ6 Diversion F (full fairing).

What Buyers Should Know
Proven Reliable Engine
The XJ6 uses a detuned version of the R6 engine, making it extremely robust and long-lasting with regular maintenance. Many owners report trouble-free riding well past 50,000 km.
Watch the Throttle Bodies
A known issue on used XJ6s is uneven throttle body synchronization, which causes rough idling or hesitation. Always test ride and listen for inconsistent engine behavior before buying.
Strong Resale Value
The XJ6 holds its value well due to its popularity as a beginner-to-intermediate bike with broad appeal. Its practicality and low running costs keep demand steady in the used market.
