That crossplane CP4 engine โ borrowed straight from the R1 โ delivers a brutally addictive powerband that'll have you grinning like an idiot on any road. First-gen bikes (2016-2021) are bargains right now, and the chassis is still sharp enough to embarrass sportbikes half its age. Just budget for suspension upgrades if you're riding hard โ stock units are mediocre for the performance on offer. Check the service history obsessively. These engines love to rev but they need regular oil changes, and chain/sprocket wear is aggressive if the previous owner was enthusiastic. Electronics are generally reliable, but the original quickshifter on early models was notoriously clunky โ later revisions sorted it.
