Yamaha Fz-09

The Yamaha Fz-09 has a top speed of 220 km/h (est. ~215–225 km/h; note: electronically influenced, real-world estimate), produces 115 hp and weighs 193 kg wet/curb weight. Motoryk rates it 8/10.

⚙️

Strong Reliable Engine

The FZ-09's 847cc CP3 triple engine is known for exceptional durability with minimal major failures reported. Regular oil changes and valve checks keep it running strong well past 50,000 miles.

⚠️

Watch the Throttle

Early 2014-2016 models had notoriously abrupt throttle response that caught many riders off guard. Look for bikes with an aftermarket throttle tamer or ECU flash, as Yamaha improved this in later model years.

💰

Holds Value Well

The FZ-09 retains resale value better than many naked bikes in its class due to high demand and a loyal fanbase. Low-mileage examples consistently sell close to their original purchase price in the used market.

Отзыв покупателя б/у

8.0/10
Лучшее для
Experienced riders wanting thrills under $6k

"Raw, rewarding, and cheap — but buy 2017 onwards only."

$4,500-$7,500 used

The FZ-09 is one of those bikes that rewards experienced riders and absolutely punishes overconfidence. That 847cc triple is genuinely spectacular — torquey, characterful, and sounds like nothing else in this class. Early models (2014-2016) came with notoriously twitchy throttle mapping and suspension that felt like it was borrowed from a budget commuter. Yamaha fixed both issues progressively, so hunt down a 2017 or newer if you can stretch the budget. Used examples are everywhere, which tells you two things: it sold brilliantly, and some owners couldn't handle it. Check the subframe carefully — these things get dropped in parking lots constantly, and a bent subframe is expensive. Also inspect the exhaust headers for corrosion and look for leaking fork seals. The stock suspension is better on later models but still a worthwhile upgrade if you plan to ride hard. For the money, there's genuinely nothing else that delivers this much engine character and straight-line excitement. Just go in with eyes open.
