Vespa Lx 150

The Vespa Lx 150 has a top speed of 105 km/h, produces 10.5 hp and weighs 116 kg. Motoryk rates it 7.5/10.

🔧

Watch the Carburetor

The LX 150's carburetor is prone to clogging if the scooter sits unused for extended periods. Regular use or draining the fuel before storage prevents costly cleaning or replacement.

💰

Strong Resale Value

Vespas hold their value exceptionally well compared to most scooters, often retaining 60-70% of their value after several years. The brand's iconic status and loyal following keep used demand consistently high.

⚙️

Fuel-Injected Upgrade

Later LX 150 models (2012+) switched from carburetor to fuel injection, making them noticeably more reliable and easier to start in cold weather. Always confirm which version you're buying, as it significantly affects long-term maintenance.

7.5/10
Idéal pour
Urban commuters who value style over practicality

"Overpriced to own but genuinely loveable if budget allows."

$1,800-$3,500 used

The Vespa LX 150 is the kind of scooter that makes you feel like you're sipping espresso in Rome even when you're stuck in suburban traffic. It's genuinely charming, and that's not nothing. The 150cc four-stroke pulls smoothly through city riding, handles parking nightmares effortlessly, and gets around 70mpg if you're not constantly wringing its neck. Build quality is notably better than Asian competitors — the steel monocoque frame doesn't rattle apart after three years. That said, go in with eyes open. Parts are expensive and sometimes scarce. Piaggio dealers aren't everywhere, and independent mechanics often charge premium rates just for the Italian badge. The underseat storage is genuinely pathetic — can't fit a full-face helmet. Inspect any used example carefully around the floorboard seams and under the legshield where rust hides. CVT belt and rollers need regular attention; previous owners frequently ignore this. Budget $200-300 annually for proper maintenance regardless.
