Transfer Port Injection

The TPI fuel injection system eliminates premix and automatically adjusts fuel delivery, making it significantly easier to maintain than carbureted two-strokes. It also improves cold-start reliability and reduces fouled plugs.

Watch the Power Valve

The RAVE power valve requires regular cleaning every 50-100 hours or it can stick, causing noticeable power loss and potential engine damage. Neglected power valves are the most common issue found on used examples.

💰

Strong Resale Value

KTM 300 EXC TPI models hold their value exceptionally well, often retaining 70-80% of purchase price after a year due to high demand and limited supply. A well-maintained example rarely sits on the market long.

Lo mejor para
Experienced enduro riders wanting serious trail weapon

"The best enduro two-stroke available, if you're genuinely ready."

$7,500-$11,500 used

The 300 EXC TPI is genuinely one of the most capable off-road machines ever built, but it'll humble you fast if you're not ready for it. That fuel-injected two-stroke is addictive — crisp, responsive, and surprisingly tractable in the tight stuff — but it demands proper maintenance. Check the power valve religiously on any used example. Neglected PV actuators are the single biggest killer on these bikes, and sellers rarely mention it. Budget for that inspection immediately after purchase. The ergonomics are pure enduro — aggressive, tall, demanding. Previous owners matter enormously here. A 300 TPI that's been thrashed by a club racer through rocky terrain is a completely different animal to one used for weekend trail riding. Ask for service history, check the subframe for cracks, inspect the WP suspension for leaks. Parts availability from KTM is solid, but it's not cheap. Running costs will surprise you if you're coming from a four-stroke background.
