Ktm 1190 Adventure
The KTM 1190 Adventure was introduced in 2013 as a flagship adventure-touring motorcycle, succeeding the 990 Adventure and positioned to compete directly with the BMW R1200GS. It featured a newly developed 1190cc LC8 V-twin engine and was notably used as the basis for the KTM 1190 Adventure R, offering more off-road capability. The model was produced through 2016 before being superseded by the 1290 Super Adventure.

What Buyers Should Know
Watch the Frame Cracks
Some KTM 1190 Adventure owners have reported frame cracks near the steering head, particularly on earlier models. Always inspect the frame carefully before buying used.
Water Pump Weakness
The water pump seal and impeller are known weak points that can fail and cause coolant leaks or mixing with oil. Budget for an inspection or preemptive replacement if buying used.
Strong Resale Value
The 1190 Adventure holds its value reasonably well thanks to its capable WP suspension, advanced cornering ABS, and rally-bred LC8 V-twin engine that enthusiasts still seek out.
