Honda Super Cub 125

The Honda Super Cub 125 has a top speed of 95 km/h, produces 8.8 hp and weighs 107 kg. Motoryk rates it 8.5/10.

The Honda Super Cub 125 is the modern evolution of the original Super Cub, first introduced by Honda in 1958, which became the best-selling motorized vehicle in history with over 100 million units produced. The 125cc variant was developed to meet European and global demand for a larger-displacement version compliant with A1 license categories, with the current generation (C125) launched in 2018 featuring fuel injection and retro-modern styling. It remains iconic for its step-through frame, legendary reliability, and fuel efficiency, cementing Honda's legacy as a global mobility pioneer.

What Buyers Should Know

🔧

Legendary Engine Reliability

The Super Cub 125 uses Honda's proven fuel-injected SOHC engine that routinely surpasses 100,000 km with basic maintenance. It's one of the most reliable small-displacement engines ever built.

💰

Strong Resale Value

Super Cubs hold their value exceptionally well due to brand reputation and global demand, often retaining 70-80% of their value after two years. Limited depreciation makes them a smart financial choice.

⚠️

Watch for Chain Wear

The most common issue on used Super Cubs is a neglected drive chain and sprocket, which wears quickly if not lubricated regularly. Always inspect chain slack and sprocket teeth before buying used.

"The most sensible, enjoyable small bike money can buy used."

$2,500-$4,500 used

The Super Cub 125 is genuinely one of the smartest used buys in motorcycling right now. Honda's build quality means even higher-mileage examples — 15,000 miles plus — are typically solid if they've had basic maintenance. The fuel-injected engine from 2019 onward is particularly bulletproof, and parts availability is excellent. Check the chain wear, inspect the automatic clutch for smooth engagement, and make sure the front drum brake (on earlier UK models) hasn't been neglected. What nobody tells you is how addictive this thing is. It's not fast — 70mph is working hard — but around town and on back roads it's genuinely joyful. The semi-automatic gearbox clicks through perfectly and the fuel economy is almost embarrassing. Seventy miles per gallon is realistic. Storage is surprisingly useful and the center stand makes chain maintenance dead easy. Used prices have held stubbornly firm because demand is strong and supply isn't huge. Don't expect bargains, but you'll recoup most of your money selling it on.
