The Rune is Honda's fever dream — a rolling sculpture that makes Harley customs look conservative. Built only from 2004-2005, these things are genuinely rare, and every one you find has been either babied by a collector or ridden hard by someone who didn't care about resale. Know which one you're buying before you hand over cash. Check the chrome obsessively because there's a LOT of it, and restoration costs are brutal. Riding it is... an experience. That 1832cc flat-six from the Valkyrie pulls smooth and strong, but the Rune weighs 870 pounds wet and handles like you're steering a barge through treacle. Low-speed maneuvers will embarrass you in parking lots until you respect the mass. Highway cruising is genuinely magnificent though — planted, effortless, conversation-starting at every gas station. Parts availability is the real nightmare. Honda discontinued everything quickly, so source a parts bike alongside your purchase if you're serious. These aren't weekend projects — they're commitment pieces.
