Honda Rc45
The Honda RC45 (RVF750R) was introduced in 1994 as Honda's homologation special built to compete in World Superbike Championship, succeeding the legendary RC30. Featuring a 749cc V4 engine with gear-driven cams, PGM-FI fuel injection, and cutting-edge titanium components, it was one of the most exotic production motorcycles of its era. Only around 200 units were produced annually to meet homologation requirements, making it extremely rare and collectible, with Aaron Slight and John Kocinski achieving notable WSB results aboard it.

What Buyers Should Know
Strong Resale Value
The RC45 is a highly collectible homologation special with only around 200 road-going units built, making genuine examples increasingly rare and valuable. Well-maintained bikes regularly sell for $40,000–$80,000+ USD.
Watch for Race Damage
Many RC45s were used on track, so carefully inspect the frame, bodywork, and engine internals for crash damage or signs of hard racing use. Matching original parts are extremely expensive and difficult to source.
Complex, High-Maintenance V4
The 748cc V4 engine features gear-driven cams and a sophisticated PGM-FI injection system that requires specialist knowledge to maintain correctly. Routine service costs are significantly higher than standard sportbikes.
