Used Buyer Review

The Speed Twin 900 is one of those bikes that sneaks up on you. It's not trying to be the fastest or the most aggressive thing in the class โ€” it's just genuinely pleasant to ride, and that counts for a lot. The 900cc parallel twin pulls smoothly from low revs, the riding position is relaxed without being lazy, and it looks properly classic without feeling like a costume. Triumph built this thing to be enjoyed, not endured. Used examples are generally solid, but do your homework. Check the final drive chain and sprockets โ€” owners who skipped maintenance are out there. Pre-2021 models had minor fueling hiccups at low throttle openings that Triumph largely sorted with software updates. The switchgear feels slightly cheap for the price point, and the mirrors are famously useless. Nothing catastrophic, just niggles. For the money on the used market, you're getting a characterful, capable middleweight that suits city riding and weekend blasts equally well. It won't win a track day, but it'll make you smile every single time you fire it up.

Pros

+Smooth, tractable parallel twin
+Genuinely handsome classic styling
+Comfortable all-day ergonomics
+Reliable Triumph build quality
+Strong used value proposition

Cons

-Useless stock mirrors
-Early fueling roughness issue
-Switchgear feels budget-grade
-Limited wind protection
