Used Buyer Review

The Daytona 660 is Triumph finally getting their lightweight sport bike right, and used examples are starting to hit the market at genuinely compelling prices. The triple-cylinder engine is the real story here โ€” that 660cc unit punches well above its displacement, delivering a meaty mid-range that 600 four-cylinders simply can't match below 10,000rpm. It's approachable without feeling slow, which is a difficult balance to strike. Check the throttle bodies for any signs of hesitation on cold starts; early units had minor fueling quirks that dealers sorted with software updates. Ergonomics sit in a sweet spot between aggressive and comfortable โ€” you can genuinely do a two-hour motorway run without arriving destroyed. The Brembo brakes are excellent, and the quickshifter works cleanly in both directions. When shopping used, inspect the fairing lowers carefully because trackday warriors love these things and kerbing damage is common. Service intervals are reasonable, but verify the chain and sprocket condition โ€” budget riders often neglect them.

Pros

+Triple engine feels genuinely special
+Brembo brakes are excellent
+Surprisingly comfortable ergonomics
+Strong real-world mid-range power
+Quickshifter works both directions

Cons

-Fairing damage common on used
-Early fueling software issues
-Pillion accommodation is terrible
-Insurance costs bite young riders

You prioritise comfort or need pillion capability
