Triumph Speed Triple 1200 Rr Review
"The finest street triple-cylinder motorcycle money can realistically buy used."
Used Buyer Review
The Speed Triple 1200 RR is the sharpest thing Triumph has ever built, and buying one used makes an almost-unobtainable bike suddenly realistic. That 1160cc triple pulls hard from 3,000rpm and absolutely screams past 10,000 — it's genuinely addictive in a way that makes you question your life choices on every ride. The Öhlins suspension and Brembo Stylema brakes are race-spec hardware that you'd normally find costing double the price. Check service history obsessively — these motors prefer their oil changed on schedule, and the throttle-by-wire system has shown quirks on early examples if they've been dropped or had cheap aftermarket parts fitted. Used examples are rare because owners don't want to sell them. When you do find one, inspect the fairing edges and clip-ons for tip-over damage — the low, aggressive riding position means it gets dropped in car parks more than you'd expect. Electronics are excellent but have the dealership run a diagnostic before buying. It's not comfortable for anything beyond 90 minutes, and that's just the honest truth.
