Suzuki V-strom 1050 Xt Review
"The sensible adventurer's choice that rarely disappoints experienced riders."
Used Buyer Review
The V-Strom 1050 XT is one of those bikes that makes complete sense the longer you live with it. The 1037cc parallel-twin pulls hard from low revs without being theatrical about it — you're making serious progress before you've even thought about it. The XT package adds wire-spoke wheels, which genuinely matter if you're planning any gravel work, plus a slightly taller screen and handguards that earn their keep in winter. Check the throttle bodies for carbon buildup on anything pre-2022 and inspect the chain and sprockets — owners who tour hard sometimes neglect drivetrain maintenance. Luggage mounts and frame sliders are worth verifying too. Used examples are genuinely solid. Suzuki's build quality here is honest and unpretentious — nothing fails dramatically, though the switchgear feels dated compared to BMW or KTM rivals. The cornering ABS and traction control work unobtrusively rather than brilliantly. For the money you'll pay used, nothing else offers this breadth of capability.
