Used Buyer Review

The SE 300i is one of those bikes that rewards experienced hands and punishes rookies without mercy. That fuel-injected 300cc two-stroke is genuinely savage when it comes on pipe โ€” we're talking proper snap that'll catch you out if you're daydreaming. On a used example, the injection system is actually your friend; these motors run cleaner and start better than carbed equivalents, but check the throttle body for carbon buildup and make sure the mapping hasn't been messed with by some ham-fisted previous owner. Build quality is solidly mid-tier โ€” better than budget Spanish stuff, not quite KTM-tight. Check the frame welds around the steering head, inspect the Reiger shock linkage bearings, and wiggle everything in the subframe. These bikes get thrashed on enduro stages, so assume any used example has seen serious abuse. Fork seals, wheel bearings, and brake pads are consumables you'll likely replace immediately. Spares availability has improved but Sherco's dealer network remains patchy outside major cities. Budget realistically for that.

Pros

+Fuel injection starts reliably
+Featherlight chassis feel
+Brutal, addictive power delivery
+Competitive used pricing

Cons

-Dealer network still thin
-Unforgiving for intermediate riders
-Linkage bearings wear quickly
