Ktm 1090 Adventure Review
"Brilliant adventure bike — but budget for a thorough pre-purchase inspection."
Used Buyer Review
The 1090 Adventure sits in a sweet spot KTM rarely hits — genuinely capable off-road without being a complete handful on the tarmac. That LC8 parallel-twin pulls hard from 3,000rpm and never feels lazy on the motorway. The suspension is properly sorted from the factory, which isn't something you can always say about this class. Buy one with the WP semi-active setup if you can find it. Here's the honest bit though — these bikes have a checkered reliability history. Check the throttle bodies obsessively, look for any fuel pump warnings in the service history, and run the VIN for any outstanding recalls. The electrical gremlins are real. A well-maintained example with stamped service books from a dealer is worth paying a premium for. Ignore the Facebook heroes telling you they never need maintenance. Prices have stabilised nicely now, and you can grab a solid 2017-2018 example for sensible money. It's still one of the most exciting adventure bikes to actually ride, just go in with your eyes open.
