Kawasaki Z900rs Cafe Review
"A gorgeous, capable machine best enjoyed in short, spirited doses."
Used Buyer Review
The Z900RS Cafe is one of those bikes that makes you feel like a magazine cover every time you throw a leg over it. Kawasaki absolutely nailed the aesthetic — that café racer crouch, the twin exhausts, the Candy Tone Brown and Green colorways. But here's the honest truth: it's a costume. The ergonomics punish you past 45 minutes, the clip-ons load your wrists hard, and the seat is genuinely awful on longer hauls. Buy it knowing that going in. Mechanically though, the 948cc inline-four is bulletproof. These engines go 30,000 miles without complaint if the previous owner wasn't a complete animal. Check for chain wear, inspect the rear shock — it's soft from the factory and many owners swap it out. Avoid anything below 2018 since early units had some ECU mapping quirks. Mileage under 8k is ideal, but don't fear 15k if it's got service records. This is a bike you buy with your eyes open. Flawed, gorgeous, absolutely worth it.
