Kawasaki Mean Streak 1600 Review
"A genuinely tough muscle cruiser that rewards patient, experienced buyers."
Used Buyer Review
The Mean Streak is essentially a Vulcan 1600 Classic with the chrome dialed back and the aggression turned up. That 1,552cc V-twin pulls hard from low revs and sounds genuinely menacing through the stock exhaust — two things Kawasaki got absolutely right. It sits somewhere between a muscle cruiser and a softchopper, and honestly that's its biggest selling point. It's not trying too hard to be anything. Used examples have held up well mechanically — the engine is bulletproof if it's been serviced properly, so pull the maintenance records before handing over any cash. Check the carbs on pre-2007 models for gumming if it's been sitting. Seat comfort drops off sharply past 150 miles, and the handlebar reach is awkward for shorter riders. Suspension is soft by any objective measure.
