Kawasaki KLX230 S Review
"Honest, capable beginner dual-sport that punches above its used price."

Used Buyer Review
The KLX230 S is Kawasaki's attempt at a proper dual-sport without terrifying new riders, and honestly, it mostly delivers. The fuel-injected 233cc engine is punchy enough for fire roads and light trail work, and that 21-inch front wheel actually inspires confidence on loose stuff. Used examples tend to be in decent shape because owners rarely thrash them — most buyers were weekend warriors who kept the mileage low. Check the air filter religiously on any used one; previous owners who did greasy trail riding often neglect it completely. The suspension is the honest weak point. Stock units are soft and wallowy the moment you push harder than a casual pace, so budget for a respring if you're serious about dirt. The seat is also criminally uncomfortable past an hour. On the positive side, these things are bulletproof mechanically — Kawasaki built them to survive beginner abuse, which ironically makes them solid used buys. Parts availability is excellent and independent shops know them well. For the price point used, it's genuinely hard to argue against one if your ambitions stay modest.
