Used Buyer Review

The Rebel 1100 is Honda doing what Honda does best โ€” taking something familiar and making it genuinely good. That parallel twin pulls hard from low revs, and the DCT version especially makes city riding almost laughably easy. It's not trying to be an Sportster or a Bonneville; it's its own thing, and that confidence shows. Used prices have settled into reasonable territory now that the initial hype has cooled. Check the DCT model carefully โ€” early owners reported occasional hesitation during aggressive downshifts, though most were sorted with software updates. Look for service records showing the valve clearance check around 16,000 miles. These engines are tough, but Honda's maintenance schedule exists for a reason. Cosmetic damage around the wide bars is common from parking lot tip-overs. If you want a cruiser that doesn't punish you for wanting to corner, this is genuinely it. It won't embarrass you at a stoplight or on a twisty back road. Thoroughly modern underneath that retro skin.

Pros

+Strong, tractable parallel twin
+DCT option genuinely useful
+Honda reliability track record
+Surprisingly capable in corners
+Resale value holds well

Cons

-DCT early software gremlins
-Limited aftermarket support still
-Seat comfort drops after hours
-Wide bars catch parking lot bumps
