Used Buyer Review

The CRF1100L is genuinely one of the most capable adventure bikes you can buy used right now, and the market knows it — prices stay firm. That 1084cc parallel-twin is almost bulletproof in real-world use, but do yourself a favour and check the software version before buying. Early 2020-2021 DCT models had throttle response issues that Honda fixed via updates, so ask for service history and confirm the ECU's been flashed. The real-world ergonomics are excellent for riders 5'8" and above, though shorter riders will want the lowering kit sorted before purchase. Check the auxiliary lighting wiring if fitted — owners frequently DIY these and the fuse placement is nightmare territory. Suspension is plush for road work but exposed to abuse on gravel trails, so inspect the fork seals and linkage bearings on any bike with obvious off-road miles. Adventure Spec trim adds real value; standard models often lack the better screen and heated grips. Used values hold stubbornly well, which tells you everything about owner satisfaction. This is a bike people keep, and when they sell, there's usually a good reason to dig into.

+Engine almost never fails
+DCT gearbox genuinely brilliant
+Excellent long-haul comfort
