Hero Splendor Plus Review
"The most sensible used commuter money can buy, full stop."
Used Buyer Review
Look, the Splendor Plus isn't going to set your pulse racing, and it was never meant to. This is India's bestselling commuter for a reason — it's bulletproof reliable, sips fuel like nothing else, and parts are absolutely everywhere. If you find a well-maintained example between 2015-2022, you're getting genuinely dependable transport for very little money. The 97.2cc engine is so understressed it'll run forever if the previous owner changed the oil occasionally. What to check on used examples: inspect the chain and sprocket wear closely since budget riders often neglect them, look for crash damage on the engine guard and footpegs, and start it cold to listen for any top-end rattle. Avoid anything with a modified air filter or poorly tuned carb — economy riders sometimes chase even better mileage and mess things up. The suspension is basic but honest, brakes are adequate for city speeds, and the seat will punish anything over 40km.
