Gas Gas Mc 450f Review
"The smartest backdoor into KTM performance without KTM pricing."
Used Buyer Review
The GasGas MC 450F is essentially a KTM 450 SX-F wearing different plastics, which tells you almost everything you need to know. Same Austrian-engineered engine, same WP XACT suspension, same chromoly frame underneath — but typically sitting two to three grand cheaper on the used market. That's the real pitch here, and it's a genuinely compelling one if you can get past the brand snobbery at the gate. Buying used, you need to do your homework. Check the hours on the engine religiously — these high-compression 450s need top-end attention around 40-50 hours and a full rebuild by 100. Ask for service records, because the previous owner probably wasn't as diligent as they claim. The WP suspension is excellent but sensitive to worn linkage bearings, so get underneath it and check for slop. Mapping issues via the GasGas app can be finicky compared to KTM's more mature ecosystem. Get a properly serviced example under $6,000 and you've bought yourself a legitimate factory-spec motocrosser at privateer money. Hard to argue with that math.
