Ducati St2 Review
"An honest, rewarding Ducati — but only buy one with receipts."
Used Buyer Review
The ST2 is Ducati's most sensible sport-tourer, which sounds like damning it with faint praise but genuinely isn't. That 944cc desmo V-twin pulls hard from low revs, makes a proper mechanical soundtrack, and won't terrorise you on a Sunday morning run. It's the Ducati you can actually live with — decent wind protection, half-decent luggage, and a riding position that won't destroy your wrists after two hours. But here's what dealers won't tell you: desmo valve clearance checks are non-negotiable every 7,500 miles and cost serious money at a dealership. Always demand service history showing this was done. Electrics are the other achilles heel — connectors corrode, sensors fail, and gremlins appear from nowhere on tired examples. Budget $500-800 annually for unexpected electrical nonsense on anything over 25,000 miles. Buy a clean low-mileage example with full service history and you've got an underrated, characterful sport-tourer that'll embarrass plenty of modern bikes. Buy a cheap neglected one and you're funding someone else's deferred maintenance nightmare.
