Ather 450x Review
"Buy with a battery health report, or walk away entirely."
Used Buyer Review
The Ather 450X is genuinely the smartest electric scooter India has produced, and buying one used makes serious financial sense — if you know what to check. The OTA update ecosystem means older units often run nearly-current software, which is a genuine differentiator. Performance is punchy and immediate in Warp mode, handling is surprisingly composed for urban work, and that touchscreen dashboard still embarrasses most rivals launched after it. Real-world range sits around 70-80km in mixed riding, not the 116km they advertise. Accept that upfront. Battery health is your single biggest concern on used examples. Demand the diagnostics report through the Ather app — any reputable seller can pull it. Avoid anything showing below 85% state of health, especially on pre-2021 Gen 2 units. Service history matters here more than most bikes because the cooling system and charging port connectors have known wear issues. Ather's service network is still concentrated in major cities, so rural buyers should genuinely think twice. Parts availability is improving but not solved.
