Yamaha Xsr900

The Yamaha Xsr900 has a top speed of 220 km/h (estimated), produces 119 hp and weighs 193 kg. Motoryk rates it 8.5/10.

⚙️

Proven MT-09 Engine

The XSR900 shares its 889cc CP3 triple-cylinder engine with the MT-09, a powerplant known for strong reliability with minimal major issues reported. Regular valve checks every 26,600 miles are the most significant maintenance item to budget for.

⚠️

Watch the Fuel Pump

Early 2016-2017 models had occasional fuel pump and throttle position sensor issues that could cause rough running or stalling. Always check service history and ask if these components have been inspected or replaced.

💰

Strong Resale Value

The XSR900 holds its value well compared to competitors thanks to its retro styling appeal and Yamaha's reputation for dependability. The 2022+ redesign with quickshifter and traction control upgrades makes older models slightly more affordable without sacrificing core performance.

Lo mejor para
Experienced riders wanting fun, practical, stylish middleweight

"The best used triple you can buy under eight grand."

$5,500-$8,500 used

The XSR900 is one of those bikes that genuinely delivers on its promises. That CP3 triple engine — shared with the MT-09 — is an absolute weapon. Smooth enough for commuting, savage enough when you crack it open on a B-road. The torque delivery is addictive rather than aggressive, which makes it surprisingly forgiving for the power on offer. Build quality is solid throughout. Buying used, check the frame sliders situation — these get dropped in parking lots embarrassingly often. Also inspect the bar-end mirrors, which are stylish but fragile. Early models had some fueling hesitancy below 4,000rpm that a simple ECU flash sorts permanently. Suspension is competent but not exceptional; previous owners who've fitted aftermarket rear shocks have done you a favour. Overall it's a genuinely sorted middleweight that ages well. Parts availability is excellent since it shares so much DNA with the MT-09. The retro styling hasn't dated badly either, which matters for resale. Strong value used.
