Mv Agusta Superveloce 800

The Mv Agusta Superveloce 800 has a top speed of ~240 km/h, produces 147 hp and weighs 173 kg. Motoryk rates it 8/10.

⚙️

Electrical Gremlins Exist

Early Superveloce 800 models are known for occasional ECU and electrical glitches, including erratic throttle-by-wire behavior. Always verify the latest firmware update has been applied before purchasing.

💰

Strong Collector Resale

The limited-edition Serie Oro variant holds value exceptionally well due to its production cap of 311 units worldwide. Standard models also retain value better than average thanks to MV Agusta's boutique brand appeal.

🔧

High Maintenance Costs

The triple-cylinder engine requires valve clearance checks every 7,500 miles, and dealer service costs are significantly higher than Japanese competitors. Budget for premium maintenance or find a specialist independent mechanic familiar with MV Agusta.

"Magnificent, temperamental Italian art that rewards patient, prepared owners."

$14,000-$19,000 used

Look, the Superveloce 800 is genuinely one of the most beautiful motorcycles ever bolted together, and that triple sings like nothing else in this displacement class. If you're buying used, budget an extra $1,500-2,000 immediately for the 12,000-mile service — it's expensive and non-negotiable. Check the throttle-by-wire response carefully; early bikes had some jerky low-speed fueling that later software updates addressed, so verify the ECU has been flashed by an authorised dealer. The ergonomics are surprisingly liveable for a retro-sport machine, but the heat management is genuinely terrible in traffic. Your right leg will cook. That's not a dealbreaker but it's a real thing nobody warns you about. Also inspect the exhaust headers for bluing and check the frame sliders — these get dropped in car parks more than any other bike I've seen, purely because owners panic about the price tag. Find a dealer-serviced example with full history and you've got something truly special. Buy a neglected one and you've bought yourself a very expensive project with Italian complexity.
