Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200

The Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 has a top speed of 210 km/h, produces 105 hp and weighs 259 kg. Motoryk rates it 7.5/10.

⚙️

Transverse V-Twin Power

The 1151cc 90-degree V-twin engine is mounted longitudinally, giving the Stelvio a unique low center of gravity and distinctive shaft-drive setup that eliminates chain maintenance entirely.

🔧

Watch the Throttle Bodies

Early models (2008-2011) are known for throttle body synchronization issues causing rough idle and stuttering — always verify this has been properly serviced or updated before buying.

💰

Stable Resale Value

The Stelvio holds its value reasonably well due to its cult following and limited production numbers, but its niche appeal means the buyer pool is smaller, so pricing must be competitive to sell quickly.

7.8/10

Contras

A oscilação do eixo interrompe a lentidão técnica
Punição do calor do motor no trânsito
Pesado para uso off-road real
A calibração do ABS parece rudimentar
2011–2015 Gen 2

Variante NTX adicionada, suspensão revisada, melhor proteção contra o vento, eletrônica atualizada e sistema ABS.

Melhor para
Experienced tourers wanting soul over technology

"Flawed, characterful, and deeply rewarding for the right rider."

$6,500-$11,000 used

The Stelvio 1200 is one of those bikes that rewards patience and forgiveness in equal measure. That big 90-degree V-twin pulls hard from low revs and sounds genuinely spectacular, but it's the character that gets you — this thing vibrates, transmits, and communicates in ways modern adventure bikes simply don't. Torque is abundant, handling is surprisingly competent for a tall bike, and the shaft drive means zero chain maintenance headaches on long tours. Used examples need careful scrutiny though. Check the bevel drive housing for leaks, inspect the throttle bodies for flat spots, and verify the alternator belt has been serviced — it's a known weak point that gets ignored. Earlier models had mediocre suspension that benefits hugely from aftermarket upgrades. Electronics are basic by today's standards, fuel economy is modest, and the gearbox needs deliberate, firm shifts or it'll clunk angrily at you. Budget for a full service immediately after purchase.
