Kymco Agility 150

The Kymco Agility 150 has a top speed of 105 km/h, produces 10.5 hp and weighs 108 kg. Motoryk rates it 6.5/10.

The KYMCO Agility 150 was introduced in the mid-2000s as part of KYMCO's popular Agility scooter lineup, originally launched with smaller displacements before the 150cc variant gained traction in global markets. It became one of KYMCO's best-selling urban scooters due to its practical design, reliability, and affordability, competing strongly against Taiwanese and Chinese rivals. The Agility 150 is particularly notable for its widespread adoption in Europe, Latin America, and Southeast Asia as an accessible commuter scooter.

What Buyers Should Know

🔧

Proven Reliable Engine

The KYMCO Agility 150 uses a well-regarded single-cylinder 4-stroke engine known for longevity with basic maintenance. Many owners report 30,000+ miles with few major issues when oil changes are kept regular.

⚠️

Watch the Variator

The CVT variator and roller weights are the most common wear items, typically needing inspection around 10,000–15,000 miles. Sluggish acceleration or belt slipping are early warning signs to watch for.

💰

Modest Resale Value

The Agility 150 holds modest but stable resale value due to its affordable new price point and popularity as a budget commuter. Buying used offers excellent value, but don't expect strong returns if reselling.

7.2/10

"Honest, unglamorous urban tool that simply works."

I put about 8,000 km on one of these doing daily city commutes and the occasional suburban errand run, and the Agility 150 never once pretended to be something it wasn't. The 149cc engine pulls crisply to around 80 km/h and then runs out of breath — highway on-ramps are genuinely stressful, and that 95 km/h top speed is a theoretical number you'll hit flat-out downhill with a tailwind. The telescopic front fork gives it a noticeably more planted feel over potholes than comparable drum-front scooters of the era, and the 770mm seat height suits average-build riders without the tip-toe anxiety you get on taller machines. What drags it down is the rear drum brake — mushy, grabby in the wet, and you'll learn to treat it as a suggestion rather than a command — and the plastics feel like they were sourced from the cheapest possible supplier, because they were.

Pros

+Reliable, fuss-free 4-stroke engine
+Decent front fork compliance
+Low running and maintenance costs
+Easy low-speed maneuverability

Cons

Rear drum brake inspires zero confidence
Thin, brittle body plastics
Breathless above 80 km/h
Best for: Budget-conscious urban daily commuters Skip if: You regularly use fast roads
2013–2019 Gen 2

Restyled bodywork, updated instrument cluster, improved fuel economy, refined suspension tuning.

Best for
Urban commuters wanting cheap, reliable daily transport

"A sensible, unglamorous scooter that earns its keep daily."

$1,200-$2,800 used

Look, the Agility 150 isn't going to set your soul on fire, but that's not really the point. It's a basic, honest commuter scooter that does exactly what it promises — gets you to work and back without drama. The 150cc engine is gutless above 55mph, so don't kid yourself about highway use, but for city errands and suburban commuting it's genuinely adequate. Kymco's build quality is noticeably better than the cheap Chinese clones flooding the market, and parts are actually findable, which matters enormously on a used buy. On a used example, check the variator and belt first — they wear predictably around 8,000-10,000 miles and owners often neglect them. Front brake lever feel gets spongy over time, usually just needs a fluid flush. Storage under the seat is decent but not class-leading. The suspension is tuned for smooth roads and will rattle your fillings on rougher tarmac. Nothing catastrophic, just manage your expectations.
