購入者が知っておくべきこと
Single-Cylinder Powerhouse
The 690 R uses KTM's LC4 single-cylinder engine producing ~74hp, making it one of the most powerful thumpers in its class. This engine is proven and widely supported, but requires valve checks every 15,000km — don't skip them.
Watch the Fuel Pump
Early 690 models (2012–2015) had known fuel pump failures that can leave you stranded mid-ride. Check service history for replacements or upgrades, as KTM issued fixes but not all bikes received them.
Strong Resale Value
The 690 Adventure R holds its value well due to limited production numbers and strong demand from adventure riders. A well-maintained example loses significantly less value than comparable Japanese competitors.

"The best used single-cylinder adventure bike, if the history stacks up."
$6,500-$10,500 usedThe 690 Adventure R is one of those bikes that rewards experienced riders and punishes lazy ones. That LC4 single thumps with genuine character — 74 horses from one cylinder sounds insane, and it absolutely is. On used examples, budget immediately for the service history check. These motors love maintenance and hate neglect; a skipped valve check shows up as expensive engine noise fast. WP suspension is legitimately capable, not just badge-polishing, and the lightweight chassis makes technical trails feel playful rather than terrifying. Buying used, look hard at the subframe and crash bungs — these bikes get ridden hard by people who think they're better off-road than they are. Pre-2019 models lack the updated traction control and cornering ABS, which matters more than you'd think on loose gravel. Chain wear is brutal compared to adventure bikes twice the weight. Plastic quality is characteristically KTM: fine until someone drops it twice. If it's been looked after, this is arguably the most exciting single-cylinder adventure bike money can buy. If it hasn't, walk away.
